8A- Solving the Problem

I pretty much referenced this idea in last week's assignment but my big opportunity is that of the missile threat from North Korea and the region's dependence on American aid.
America is currently providing the radar and missile defense systems for the areas surrounding North Korea. I feel like a solution, to help keep taxpayer dollars from going to the rest of the world, would be to allow Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, or other private companies to position radar systems in the Northwest pacific that can be leased by other nations or paid for by the UN. Budget is always a huge issue for the government and this could be a way to bring an American company business while giving tax payers a break. I mean, these companies sell their technology to American military branches, why not have them operate it for other nations that are our allies. This is more than an issue of dollars though, more missile defense means a smaller chance that this conflict escalates into a nuclear war or anything close to that.

  1. Never really thought about this. Defense is a huge market and could for sure use changes in the US. It is often hard to find a balance between spending and protection, but this idea could help get one step closer. North Korea is also a hot topic so this would get public backing and support in my opinion

  2. Now that you provided a clear plan that would potentially meet the needs of the businesses discussed, the United States government and the United Nations, I feel as if this opportunity would be successful for all parties involved. Paying for the implementation of the beneficial technology while potentially saving lives and keeping peace in the process is gained through your opportunity. Military defense is an industry with a lot of economic and live-saving potential and this meets the needs of all parties involved.
