12A- Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

So after these interviews and simply realizing how unnecessarily complicated my business idea has been I have decided to morph the plan into radar platforms that are scattered in international waters that provide missile defense capabilities for nations around them and weather services for international trade vessels. This is still a very big picture idea but relies less on other companies like my previous idea did. Anyway, among the people I talked to only one person said that they would utilize this service IF they were in the shoes of a poorer foreign nation or one with less military capabilities. This did not make me feel good about the idea but hey what do they know. I would need to interview international folks in order to obtain more helpful information but all three of my interviewees did say that they find out all of their weather and news related to North Korea on the internet. So that covers both of the sides of my service idea and lets me know that the internet is defi

13A- Reading Reflection 1

The Wright Brothers by. David McCullough 1.        ·            One thing that surprised me was how young the wright brothers were when they began entrepreneurial endeavors. Wilbur being the eldest was only 22 and Orville 18 when they started a newspaper with their own constructed printing press. Orville was 32 and Wilbur 36 when they achieved flight which is an age I expected but did not realize they began their innovative undertakings so many years prior. I would have had expected them to attend higher education or some form of technical training before attempting such a great feat. ·            What I most admired about the Wright brothers as entrepreneurs was their ability to work cohesively toward their goal, especially as brothers. The book discusses the development of technical skill in both brothers but Wilbur was really the visionary with a knack for creativity and business while Orville was great with tinkering and inventing. ·            The Wright

11A- Idea Napkin No. 1

1.            I am a Finance student at the University of Florida. I haven’t had any business experience up to this point but I manage small scale investments like many other young adults. I plan on commissioning as an officer in the Navy after college and have been developing leadership skills that should get me to that point. If I were to follow through with this business model of providing international missile defense, it would definitely have to become my full-time job. It is in an industry I’m only barely familiar with and would require political approval and international business deals. 2.            I am offering an alternative to United States military protection for countries fearing the missile threat from North Korea. My product would be a radar and missile defense technology platform in international waters in the Pacific (or in other regions in the future) that individual nations can pay to have access to. This would help them to become more independent in their hom

9A- Testing the Hypothesis Part 2

Interviews: 1)           In my first interview, this gentleman found my idea to be solid but thought that nobody would see value in it because they are already secure with American military assets. Also, people would only be seeing percents of pennies in savings if this happened.   He considers all of the people in places like South Korea and Japan to be benefitting more from free American protection than they would with a robust missile defense system that they have to pay for. So at the conclusion of this interview it seemed as if everyone fell outside the boundary besides maybe a politician or two. 2)          In this interview I sought to find out more about how such a seemingly broad need could really be so narrow. I asked this student if he would see any benefit to himself if a private company were to take over our military duties in missile defense in the Pacific; he responded that it would not at all change his life as long as it was effective (kept him safe). He also me
