Bug List

1. Drivers who go straight in the right lane and are stopped at the red light while you are behind them trying to go right.
-This bug exists because sometimes you just end up in the right lane.
2. The mcdonalds ice cream machine always being broken.
-This bug exists because of the low operating costs of a mcdonalds and the lack of training of the staff.
3. Lack of scooter parking next to classrooms.
-This bug exists because all space on UF's campus is valuable.
4. When my favorite sports team has an awful season.
-If the teams never had bad years the sport would be monotonous.
5. Different areas having different tv channels.
-Different regions have different providing companies and therefore different channel configurations.
6. Littering in the woods.
-People are lazy and many do not care about the future of the environment.
7. When your dog poops in other people's yards on a walk.
-Dogs have no perception of appropriate time to poop and like to mark their territory.
8. When you open a bag of candy and the plastic rips too fast and the candy explodes everywhere.
-Cheap packaging causes this bug.
9. When people wait in line at a restaurant and get to the front and haven't even looked up at the menu yet.
-People are simply lazy, and common sense isn't a common virtue.
10. When people refer to all branches of the armed forces as the Army.
-Many people just don't know much about the military.
11. That coffee gets cold and sodas and beer get warm but really they become the same temperature.
-The temperatures are just relative to the desired temps of the beverages.
12. When people say "I could care less" instead of "I couldn't care less"
-Most people don't realize they are incorrect.
13. When someone is wrong and tries to correct you to agree with their wrong statement.
-It happens to most of us who just don't realize when we are wrong.
14. Running out of salsa before running out of chips.
-The bags and salsa aren't perfectly aligned by volume.
15. People spending 30 minutes in the squat rack at southwest rec.
-Many people lack common courtesy
16. Southwest rec has very few mens basketballs relative to how many people play there.
-There really is no excuse for this bug in my opinion (salt)
17. Mosquitos
-They are a food source for many animals like spiders and bats
18. When random tourists drop into your wave with absolutely no chance of actually riding the wave.
-Everyone has to start somewhere
19. When skiers stand at the bottom of a jump and you can't see them until you land on them.
-Not everyone has a good sense of their surroundings at all times
20. When exams happen to fall on the same day.
-UF can't have 1000 different exam days.

Coming up with this list was quite easy and made me feel like a real complainer. It also made me notice how many common inconveniences there are in daily life. I could have gone on to a list of 500.

    Interesting how it was easy for you to come up with bugs, I had a very hard time coming up with more than five, and then articulating them was a whole other story. Also, about the scooter parking, I totally agree with you. I sometimes see them stuffed and people dragging theirs out however they can disregarding other scooters, some even fall over.

    If I could I would kill all mosquitos. Maybe a little harsh, but mosquitos are the worst and I feel they mess with me more than other people. Also, when somebody at a red light cuts me off and then I can't go right, I either hold my hold down to piss everyone off or go into other lanes to cut them off. I think I have road rage issues, but I think it is warranted most of the time. I also am a little upset about the Jags loss, but what can you do. Tom Brady is too good and we are all just playing his game.

    Hey Logan,
    I agree with most of your bugs, but specifically when your favorite team has an awful season because of how long it takes to take the bad taste out of your mouth. I also completely agree with your chips and salsa ratio issues, as I am currently re-pouring more salsa to finish the amount of chips I put on my plate before writing this comment. Overall, I found most of your bugs both understandable and applicable to both Gainesville and beyond.

28A- Your Exit Strategy

     My exit strategy is to grow and maintain my company for about ten years or until a larger company makes me an offer I can’t refuse. The reason I plan to sell this company is because it is a massive international business that would require a lot of time abroad and would involve many deals with foreign nations. I would prefer to move on to a different style of business but I would also be interested in still maintaining ownership of the company and having new management with more experience in the field.      Not too many of my decisions would revolve around this exit strategy because I am focused on expansion and maintaining a quality product. Those two things would not change if I wanted to stay in the business for the long term. I didn’t really even consider what my end intentions were when thinking of the opportunity for missile defense so my business plan was not altered by exit strategy.

30A- Final Reflection

     Looking back at this semester in entrepreneurship and the work that I have done, I see the growth I have made in seeing opportunity in the world. I also think through ideas more quickly and can see if an idea will have any chance at being feasible. The experience that helped me the most was the interview processes. The feedback not only helped to formulate a business plan but led me to find out that something I thought would have a high demand really doesn’t. The interviews made me see that I need to better understand the consumer base in the market I want to target. I probably enjoyed the bug list the most actually. It was cool to see that an issue you can find a solution to is the start to many products. )      Opportunity- There is a need in the world for safety. This need is shared by all people but is hard to come by in many regions of the world. Many people rely on other nations and foreign militaries for protection. This leaves them vulnerable to being politically  manipulated or simply abandoned during a time of need. In a world of highly technical weaponry, especially intercontinental ballistic missiles, it is necessary that people in countries with weaker militaries still have access to defensive measures against these weapons. This market is not incredibly clear to define but would include countries that feel threatened by the dictatorship of North Korea or highly combative Middle Eastern nations. It includes developed nations that do not have any form of missile defense capabilities and also those developing nations that rely on the United Nations or America for protection.
